- To examine the current knowledge of, and
forecasting and research trends on, tropical cyclones
from an integrated international perspective;
- To report on these aspects and to offer
recommendations for future research with special regard
to the varying needs of the different regions; and
- To promote future collaboration between
tropical cyclone specialists and especially between
research, forecasting, and warning communities.
